About Us    Our Projects    Support Us    Endangered Species

Together in 2019 and beyond

Dear friends,

Endangered Species International (ESI) is at the frontline working to protect from extinction some of the world's most threatened species of plants and animals. We are proud to be the voice for every animal and plant, charismatic or unknown.

We protect endangered wildlife and wild habitats with the support and knowledge of indigenous people. Our conservation work for Nature relies on local people tradition knowledge and experience based on hundreds and thousands of years. When we protect and restore rainforests and coral reefs, indigenous communities are always taking decisions on how to better save them. We continue to work successfully with many amazing local tribes from Southeast Asia, Western Africa, and the Amazon. With your support, during the next year, we can project to safeguard an amazing 252 endangered species and their habitats including rainforests, wetlands, and coral reefs with focus on the tropics where biodiversity is the most diverse and imperiled.

We stand up against governments and corporations selling out rainforests and oceans to make more profits in exchange of enduring pollution, irreparable biological destruction, and impoverishment. In 2019 we will keep fighting key projects threatening forests in the Congo Basin and Amazon. In the latter, we will keep fighting to stop the colossal industrial gold mining project in the French Amazon which is at a crucial stage. We will continue to follow and support the opinion of the Amerindian chiefs who have stated their strong opposition to this disastrous project.

We support the creation of effective protected areas. This year we supported the establishment of five protected areas and consolidated many conservation actions. Our strong on-the-ground presence allows for proper land and ocean protection, community outreach and day-to-day operation of protected areas. We currently support the management of nine protected areas. In 2019, we will continue to restore rainforests and mangroves by planting and caring for 500,000 endemic trees belonging to over 300 species, supporting the creation of new protected areas, safeguarding on the ground wild families of endangered western gorilla in Congo, stopping illegal trafficking of Asian pangolin, and much more…

You can trust ESI. Ninety eight percent of ESI's spending is directed to field conservation activities, exceeding the standards within our field. Further, ESI is consistently committed to transparency and effective impacts through the platinum-level GuideStar recognition.

It is folly and insupportable to let biodiversity and natural ecosystems, which have evolved over millions of years, to vanish on a blink of eye. You have the power to defend our natural world. Your donation to ESI supports our on-the-ground conservation efforts in three continents and many regions of the world. Please make an everlastingly contribution and join us, enabling us to protect endangered species, people's health, preserve magnificent wild places, combat climate change, and empower indigenous people.

None of this could happen without your support.

Thank you
